
SAMUEL LERCHER TRIO
The Samuel Lercher Trio is a jazz ensemble based in Lisbon, led by french pianist and composer Samuel Lercher. Since its formation in 2014, the trio has captivated audiences with its unique blend of classical and jazz influences, characterized by a subtle balance between lyricism and energy. The current lineup features renowned Portuguese musicians André Rosinha on double bass and Bruno Pedroso on drums.
Their third album, Fractal (Sintoma Records - 2024), is an autobiographical work that delves into themes such as family, migration, loss, and travel. Each of the eight tracks reflects a personal facet of Lercher's life, showcasing his evolution as both a man and a musician. The compositions are noted for their complex rhythms and melodic motifs, drawing parallels to fractal patterns found in nature. Fractal has been lauded by critics and supported by Antena 2 and the Portuguese Society of Authors Cultural Fund.
The trio has performed extensively across Portugal, France, and Spain, including venues like Guarda in Jazz, Moazz, Palmela Wine Jazz, Espacio Turina in Sevilha, Hot Clube de Portugal, Sunside Jazz Club in Paris, and the Centro Cultural de Belém in Lisbon. Their performances continue to celebrate cultural exchange and the universal language of music.
